Montréal, Jan. 7, 2009 – The industry leader in the support and development of the game at the grassroots level, Reebok Hockey is proud to announce a new partnership with the world’s premier minor hockey event, the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament.
As one of the event’s key sponsors, Reebok Hockey will help set the stage for the next generation of stars as they take the ice at Quebec City’s Colisée Pepsi for the 50th edition of this world-renowned tournament.
Taking place over 11 days from Feb. 11-22, the tournament annually attracts over 200,000 spectators and has been a key stepping stone for many of the NHL’s elite players since its debut in 1960. Superstars such as Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux all made a mark at this competition.
“Encouraging the future of the game is of fundamental importance to Reebok Hockey and in associating with this tournament, we hope to give talented players the chance to demonstrate their skills,” said Marc-André Charron, Brand Manager for Reebok Hockey. “The spectators can expect to see some very high-calibre games.”
The Reebok Hockey team will be at the Colisée Pepsi for the duration of the tournament including product managers who will be on hand answering questions and taking feedback. Players will have a special invitation, on Friday, Feb. 13, to celebrate the Reebok Hockey day of the tournament with special activities and a few surprises.
